Mr. Al-Nasr assumed duties as the Interim Executive Vice President, Administration and Finance for KAUST on December 1, 2008. Before coming to KAUST,
Mr. Al-Nasr served as executive director of Saudi Aramco's Engineering Services.

Previously, Mr. Al-Nasr served as the Interim President of KAUST. Under his direction, the nascent University began to recruit faculty and students, develop
its physical and academic structures, and establish partnerships with some of the world's top research institutions.
In his current position, Mr. Al-Nasr reports directly to the University's President, Professor Choon Fong Shih, and oversees the Chief Financial Officer, the
Chief Information Officer, the Chief Procurement Officer, the Vice President of Human Resources, the Vice President of University Relations, and KAUST's
international offices.
Mr. Al-Nasr joined the Engineering Services division of Saudi Aramco in 1978. Three years later, he began working on the execution of the Kingdom's Master Gas
System, a program to provide feedstock for petrochemical facilities in the industrial cities at Jubail and Yanbu.
In 1986, Mr. Al-Nasr was promoted to project manager with responsibility for all Ghawar oil field capital programs. In 1991, he began managing the massive and
aggressive crude expansion program in the Ghawar oilfield, ensuring the Kingdom's ability to fill the production gap caused by the loss of oil output from Iraq
and Kuwait during the Gulf War. This entire program was completed and commissioned in 1993.
Mr. Al-Nasr was eventually promoted to manager of Saudi Aramco's oil and gas pipeline projects, and in 1995 became manager of the Shaybah Development Program.
The Shaybah mega-project was commissioned in mid-1998. Mr. Al-Nasr then transferred to Corporate Planning as manager of Long Range Planning Department, where he
was responsible for preparing company strategy and business plans. In 2003, he became managing director of Saudi Petroleum Overseas Ltd., and the following year
was named executive director of Community Services.
In 2006, he was named executive director of Engineering Services.
Mr. Al-Nasr earned a bachelor's of science in Chemical Engineering in 1978 from King Fahd University of Petroleum & Minerals in Saudi Arabia.
